Case studies
Exidio is a SaaS provider of solutions for supporting the business-to-treasury activities of large corporations. Exidio’s clientele consists of multinational companies and global banks, which offer the service to their top tier corporate clients as part of their e-commerce offering. The Exidio B2T solution enables corporate treasury to provide tools to business units to ensure the transparency of foreign exchange exposures and cash flows combined with automation of internal processes.
Exidio started piloting Dotner Tracker in February 2008. Until then, Exidio was using an in-house time sheet application and a freeware tool, Xplanner, for tasking and project tracking. Reports were created using spreadsheets.
Challenges
Technical staff needed to input information separately into the time sheet application and Xplanner. Often information was not up to date in both applications, and the status of projects was not apparent. It was also common that information for reports was needed from the two different applications and it had to be collected and compiled manually.
Goals
- Enabling better resource planning.
- One application for resource planning, project management, tracking and time sheet.
- Real time visibility to project status.
Solution
For the first time we are able to combine planning, tracking and managing tasks and work time into one place. We no longer need to ask our employees to report to various systems, which motivates them to more accurate time sheet entries. Dotner Tracker has also made project management a transparent task, thus improving the engagement of the entire project team. Management has on-line access to reports for operative and administrative purposes whenever needed – previously we received full reports only once a month, after a processing period.

COODotner Tracker provided Exidio with the mechanisms for tasking, project planning, resource planning, work time entry and tracking. For getting as close to real time tracking as possible, Exidio management uses time overview reports and the diligence report to see if some individuals have neglected to report working time. Accurate work time reporting results in more reliable project status information.
In the project planning stage project management, product management and software architects work together to compile the feature and tasking information. Then project management reviews the project information, changes assignments where needed, prioritizes sub projects and uses the automatic functionality to calculate a project schedule. During the project, management tracks the project progress using work time reports, changing resourcing and priorities, and calculating an updated schedule as needed.
